We are committed to working to protect the privacy and security of the information we may gather about you, and we will endeavor to use and share that information carefully and sensibly.
This Site and the Review Service are not designed or intended for use by children under 13 years of age. Children under 13 years of age may not submit any Personally Identifiable Information to us. If we discover that we have inadvertently gathered any such information from a child under 13 years of age, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
We collect “personal information” about users of the Site and the Review Service in the normal course of our business. As used in this Policy, “personal information” is information that identifies or is capable of being associated with an identifiable person. Some examples of personal information include a user’s name, address, and email address.
Personal information does not include aggregate information or de-identified information. “Aggregate information” is information about the use of the Site, such as information collected about Site users, or a category of services or users, from which any personal information has been removed.
Most of the personal information we receive comes directly from users who register on the Site or through the Review Service. The information we request at registration includes, without limitation, name, address, e-mail address, and sometimes birth date. We may also collect other types of information such as demographic information as well as information contained in postings you make on the Site or through the Review Service and through any email you send to us.
We also receive and store certain types of information automatically whenever you interact with us. For example, we use "cookies" to obtain certain types of information when your web browser accesses this Site or the Review Service. Briefly, "cookies" are small files that we transfer to your computer's hard drive or your web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide convenience and other features to you. In addition to the cookies used directly by TestFreaks, third-party cookies from our advertising partners may also be placed on your computer, e.g. for retargeting purposes.
Examples of the information we collect and analyze in this manner include the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; computer and connection information such as browser type and version, operating system, and platform; cookie number; your activities on our Site or through the Review Service, including the products and/or services you view or search for, as well as the URL you come from and go to next (whether this URL is on our site or not). You are always free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, although, in that case, you may not be able to use certain features or services on the Site or the Review Service.
All of this information is collected and used only as aggregate information; that is, it is entered into our database, where we can use it to generate overall reports on our users, but not individual reports that identify you personally.
Information that is collected about Users through this Site or through the Review Service, including Personally Identifiable Information, is generally used for such purposes as customizing the Site or the Review Service; improving our services; providing you with the features or services requested; and communicating with you if you have authorized such communication. From time to time, TestFreaks may contact you to request feedback on your experience using the Site or the Review Service, or to offer special savings or promotions. Aggregate information about Users may be used to perform certain analysis on Users of the Site or the Review Service.
Personal information provided on our Site or through the Review Service may be linked together or merged with other personal information we obtain about you. In addition, if we receive personal information from third parties with whom we have business relationships, we may combine this information with the other personal information we maintain about you, within the limits of this Policy.
From time to time, we employ other companies and individuals to perform various functions on our behalf. Examples include sending postal mail and e-mail, analyzing user data and providing other data and services. In such instances, these companies and individuals may have access to information about you that is needed to perform their functions.
As we continue to develop our business, we may participate in corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, and it is possible that another company may acquire TestFreaks or its business assets in the future. In such cases, User information may be shared with the acquirer and/or other parties involved in those transactions.
If you provide us with personal information through a Third Party Site, we may share such information with the Third Party Site. In addition, we may also share personal information with third parties for such third parties’ marketing purposes; however, we provide you with the choice of opting-out of such disclosures.
Except as otherwise provided, individual Personally Identifiable Information is not sold to third parties. Information in the aggregate, that does not identify any specific person, may, however, be sold to third parties.
We provide our users with the ability to “opt-in” to receiving certain communications from us or having their information disclosed to third parties by indicating their preferences at the time of registration. We also allow our users to opt out of receiving inquiries about submitting reviews through a link in each such email.
Please note that opting out of receiving communications from us will not prevent you from receiving business communications, such as those concerning the operation of the Site or Review Service or about a review you have submitted.
The safeguarding of Personally Identifiable Information is important to TestFreaks. To help prevent unauthorized access and maintain data accuracy we will employ reasonable and current Internet security methods and technologies. The Personally Identifiable Information you provide to us is stored in an environment that is designed to be secure. We use a secure server hosting location, firewall protection, controlled access and encryption technology to protect Personally Identifiable Information. While no system is completely foolproof, we take security very seriously, and our security measures are designed to protect information in a responsible manner.
